Cebu Pacific Photos with TAMRON 90mm F/2.8 Macro Lens

Cebu Pacific Photos with the TAMRON 90mm F/2.8 Di III MACRO VXD

Photographer Dennis Joseph Sulit puts the TAMRON 90mm F/2.8 Di III MACRO VXD (Model F072) to work in a Cebu Pacific photoshoot, capturing portraits and fashion-inspired images with detailed textures, natural expressions, and clean background separation.

For this shoot, Sulit explored the capabilities of a 90mm prime lens after primarily using an 80-300mm zoom lens. He found the 90mm focal length well suited to the shoot, particularly for capturing fine details in skin and fabric while maintaining a natural-looking perspective.

Capturing Fine Details with a 90mm Macro Lens

The TAMRON 90mm F/2.8 Di III MACRO VXD combines the perspective of a mid-telephoto lens with 1:1 macro capability, making it suitable for both close-up photography and portraits.

For Sulit’s Cebu Pacific shoot, the lens helped capture detailed images while maintaining a comfortable working distance from the subject. The 90mm focal length also provides a flattering perspective for portrait photography, making it useful when the subject and details are equally important.

Sulit noted that the lens produced crisp and sharp details, particularly in areas such as skin and fabric.

“This is my first time trying a 90mm prime lens from Tamron. I had been using an 80-300mm zoom lens for quite a while, but what I love about the 90mm lens is that the aperture remains constant. The details of the skin and the fabric turned out crisp and sharp, exactly what I needed for the shoot.”

Photography Settings

The Cebu Pacific images were photographed using the TAMRON 90mm F/2.8 Di III MACRO VXD with a Sony A7 III.

Several of the featured images were captured using the following settings:

  • Focal length: 90mm
  • Aperture: F5
  • Shutter speed: 1/160 sec
  • ISO: 125
  • Camera: Sony A7 III

These settings provided a combination of subject detail, controlled depth of field, and sufficient shutter speed for portrait photography.

More Than a Macro Lens

Although the TAMRON 90mm F/2.8 Di III MACRO VXD is designed as a dedicated macro lens, its 90mm focal length makes it useful for a variety of subjects beyond close-up photography.

Its 1:1 magnification capability allows photographers to capture small details at life-size reproduction, while the mid-telephoto focal length works naturally for portraits and other subjects where a more focused perspective is desired.

The lens also features a high-speed, high-precision autofocus system and TAMRON’s first 12-blade circular aperture, contributing to smooth rendering and attractive background blur.

For photographers who enjoy portraits, fashion, product details, or macro photography, the combination of high resolution, close-focusing capability, and a 90mm perspective provides plenty of creative possibilities.

Exploring Portrait Photography with the TAMRON 90mm F/2.8

The Cebu Pacific photoshoot demonstrates how a macro lens can also become a versatile tool for portrait photography.

By combining a 90mm focal length with close-focusing capability, the TAMRON 90mm F/2.8 Di III MACRO VXD allows photographers to move naturally between environmental portraits, detailed facial shots, and close-up images of textures and small details.

Whether photographing people, products, fashion, or everyday subjects, the lens provides photographers with another way to explore detail and composition.
