Unlike the original 70-180mm F/2.8 Di III VXD (A056), the G2 model adds TAMRON’s proprietary VC (Vibration Compensation) mechanism.

The Nikon Z version launched on October 23, 2025, following TAMRON’s announcement on October 7, 2025.

The lens retains the same 70-180mm focal range and constant F2.8 aperture as the Sony E version while adding compatibility with Nikon Z camera systems.
