A Telephoto Zoom That Starts at 50mm

The defining feature of the 50-300mm A069 telephoto zoom is its unusual 50mm starting focal length.

Most compact 300mm telephoto zooms begin around 70mm. By starting at 50mm, the A069 provides a wider perspective that can be useful when subjects are closer than expected or when photographers want to include more of the surrounding environment.

The TAMRON 50-300mm A069 uses TAMRON’s VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) linear motor focus mechanism.

VC Image Stabilization

The A069 incorporates TAMRON’s VC (Vibration Compensation) image stabilization mechanism.

The A069 uses an optical construction of 19 elements in 14 groups.

The optical design includes two XLD (eXtra Low Dispersion) and two LD (Low Dispersion) elements, which help control chromatic aberrations and maintain high image quality throughout the zoom range.

TAMRON also uses BBAR-G2 (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection Generation 2) coating to suppress ghosting and flare.

The combination is designed to provide high levels of sharpness and clarity from 50mm through 300mm, including challenging backlit scenes.
